Guitar Tabs & Sheet Music

This lesson studies the guitar riffs and licks of
guitar master Zakk Wylde. Part 1 reviews the intro
and main riff of "I Don't Know". Zakk pretty much
follows Randy Rhoads "note for note" on the intro.
The song fill is derived from A minor diatonic scale,
also known as the Aeolian mode of C major.

Lesson Part 2 demonstrates the intro of Zakk's version
of "Bark At The Moon" which was originally played by
Jake E. Lee, who was the first replacement for guitarist
Randy Rhoads.

Lesson Part 3 teaches Zakk Wylde's version of the classic
Black Sabbath hit "Paranoid" originally created and played
by Black Sabbath guitarist "Tony Iommi".

Lesson Part 4 is one of Zakk's trademarks found within his
eccentric playing style. This guitar trick can be heard in
Ozzy's version of the Jimmy Hendrix classic "Purple Haze".

Part #2 * Riffs & Fills after solo
Song fill #1 is based soley on A minor scale, as once
again Zakk demonstrates his ability to copy Randy Rhoads
note for note. Song fill #2 is a combination of the scales
A minor diatonic and A blues scale (also minor). Song
fill #3 is based upon A minor pentatonic.

Lesson Part 4

Purple Haze * Guitar Fingertapping Trick

This "octave fingertap" occurs during the intro solo
of Zakk's version of "Purple Haze". To perform this
guitar trick, bend and hold the bent note on the 7th
fret G string (which is a D note) as you tap the octave
note (D octave note) on the 19th fret.
