Following The Roote Note

A quality tip for guitarist and bass guitarist who study
together, learning and composing songs, is to learn how
to follow the "roote note". A roote note is the first
note played in a chord, that provides the letter name
of the chord. Example #1 demonstrates this theory using
5th chords (powerchords). Example #2 demonstrates how
many times, the bass guitarist will follow the guitarist
simply by following the "roote note" of the chord. This
example is a simplified version of Black Sabbaths song
"Sweet Leaf". Example #3 demonstrates this same theory,
which teaches the chord progression to the verse of Black 
Sabbath's song "Paranoid".
