Originally this classic country guitar hit became famous
after being performed by Merle Haggard, then was once again
popular as a remake by hot nashville guitarist Steve Wariner.
Example #1 demonstrates the basic guitar chords played as
performed by Merle Haggard. Example #2 teaches a Steve Wariner
style guitar lick that may be used for hot country outro
or song ending, played in the key of A. This hot country
guitar lick may be considered as derived from A blues scale
with the additional major 3rd, often referred to as the
