The guitar wizard went on to tour with some of country music's greatest legends, such as Hank Williams, Grandpa Jones, Red Foley, Ernest Tubb and Jimmy Dean, and eventually landing a score on the television series "Hee-Haw", with co-partner ... guitarist Buck Owens. Scince that early time in Roy's carreer, Roy Clark has become one of the most famous guitarist in history as his playing style is well know from everything from his slow ballads such as "Come Live With Me" to his tasteful work on the song "Ghost Riders In The Sky". Guitars Played... Epiphone, Sheraton, Fender Jazzmaster, Telecaster, Stratocaster, Gibson Amplifiers Used... Standel, Fender, Peavey. This lesson teaches some of the fundamentals of "Roy's Guitar Boogie" including select guitar licks from Roy Clark's lead guitar solo played during this song. Roy's Guitar Boogie is based upon intervals 1,4 and 5 drived from E major diatonic scale, which is commonly reffered to as a 3 chord progression. In the key of E, this provides the chord pattern and basic outline of E,A and B. As taught below "Roy Clarks Guitar Solo Lick's" are based upon scales & theory and Roy's ability to know the difference between each major and minor scale and or chord when played as a lead guitar solo.
