Buying Or Purchasing Guitar Picks

Here are some tips for buying or purchasing guitar
picks online...

Picks are a prefrence among each player. I have been
playing for 32 years, and have tried nearly every pick
made. My best advice would be to invest in many differnt
picks, and spend time playing scales slowly, try playing
songs that strum chords, and then try playing some faster
licks.

Try this with each pick, and give it a while before making
it a choice for picking a final favorite pick. I have found
that certain picks work better for certain situations, and
some picks can actually be very helpful, if properly as a
tool for proper practicing methods.

For example, try using a heavy pick, and slowly practing
scales, using alternate picking (down, up). Do this several
times a week. Then switch to a thinner pick and try playing
some licks that are based on scales.
You may find that the heavy pick worked much like ankle or
wrist weights for a track runner.

After using the heavy pick for practicing scales, then ...
switching to the thinner pick, you may find that your
picking hand in general, is now operating much smoother and
faster.
My favorite picks of choice, that I have found which work
best for strumming chords and soloing are Jim Dunlop nylon,
non breakable picks, .38mm, or .46mm.They have a nice grip
at the top, and once they are broke in from practicing a bit,
they develop a certain smoothness vs any other picks I have
personally used in over 32 years of playing.
