Jerry Garcia Guitar Lesson

Jerry Garcia was born August 1,1942 in San Francisco
California. His groupology includes: Hart Valley Drifters,
Mother McCree's, Uptown Jug Champions, The Warlocks, The
Grateful Dead, Old And In The Way, New Riders Of The Purple
Sage. Jerry Garcias guitar influences include: Elizabeth 
Cotton, Reverand Gary Davis, Jorma Kaukonen, Chuck Berry,
B.B. King and Freddie King. His guitar equipment includes:
Alembic Customs, Travis Bean, custom Doug Irwin with Di
Marzio dual sound pickup. Mesa Boogie, Fender Harvard, 
Vinci Strings.


Jerry's playing style consist of a laid back guitar picking
and strumming style, that includes easy melody lines. 

This lesson teaches the chord progression's to the classic
hit songs Deep Elm Blues and Catfish John.

Deep Elm Blues is based upon a 3 chord progession derived
from G major scale, using chords 1,4 and 5 (G,C7,D7).

Catfish John is also based upon a 3 chord progession in
A major, also using guitar chords 1,4,5 (A,D,E).
