3 Scale Progression Review
Many classic rock hit's are based upon a valuable tool
used by many artist and groups, known as a 3 scale pro-
gression. The main guitar lick for this song is outlined
by using the 3 scales A,D and E minor pentatonic (as shown
below "Scale Examples". Example #2 teaches the main guitar
lick (taught in the key of A) which is played in it's
most common form, which is A, D, A, E, D, A, which is the
basic outline for many classic rock or blues songs that
use a 3 scale progression.
